open top motoring at its BEST

The concept of the sportscar almost died in the '80s.  Since the MG Midget ceased production in '79, it was over a decade before manufacturers began to consider cars for more than just transport.  Even now a lot of people don't understand the appeal of low slung cars with fabric roofs and two seats.  What is the appeal?

The feel of a car that is designed solely to make you smile.  Sportscars aren't designed to simply get you from 'A' to 'B'; they're the reason you decide to go to 'B' in the first place.  They connect you to the road and saturate your senses with an addictive mix of excitement and appreciation.  It's driving as it should be.

Frequently Asked Questions:

1. What if it rains?

The cars come with both a full hood and a half hood.  The half hood is great for keeping out rain while still giving the open top feel and the full hood will protect you from even monsoon conditions.  We want you to enjoy the car, so if the weather is bad, we will gladly re-schedule your booking for another day (Subject to availability obviously)

2. Are the cars difficult or scary to drive?

No.  They're surprisingly easy to drive, don't require any super-human powers and are more than happy to just pootle about the countryside.  If you or your passenger are nervous, we can take you for a brief drive to rest your mind and give you confidence while you get used to the car

3. Are they difficult to get into?

Nope, you just step in and slide down into the comfy leather seats.  It may take a bit of wriggling to get the harness on (If you've just sat on it) but you'll soon get the hang of it.  With the hood up, you need to be a bit more flexible, but we will explain the secret method when you collect the car.  Drivers shorter than 5'2" will need a pillow and those over 6'4" may need amputation.  Just kidding.  Let us know in advance and we can move the pedals forwards to make you more comfortable

4. Where can we go?

Where-ever you like.  We have suggested routes which take in some of the finest roads and best scenery on offer, but its up to you if you follow our routes or not.  Our insurers require notification if you wish to take the car out of Northern Ireland, so if you would like to go further a field (Including the Republic of Ireland) please let us know in advance

5. What happens if it breaks down?

You push.  All our cars are meticulously maintained as we are very proud of them.  Although we don't expect any breakdowns, should the worst happen, just give us a call and we will take care of everything

A couple of official Caterham videos to show you what its all about
